However, he also teaches defensive strategy and tactics at a wizard level. The pick 6 Saturday was a prime example of great athletes executing strategy at a high level. Foster blitzed, Anderson caught the pass and ran it back for 6.
If you blitz an average LB, he does not get home. An average LB may not cover well in space. An average LB may not catch the ball.
So in summary, CNS has evolved over the years. He understands that college football is played in space now- X, Y and Z axis. He recruits the best players for his system- Deshaun Davis is a decent LB, but too short to execute what Foster can. I enjoy watching DD play, but Saban would have made him a priority if he was 6'3".
