To start, I think a large part of that is accountability both on the part of the players being accountable to the coaches and, more importantly, to one another. This all comes back to culture. Whereas under Richt guys were more or less left to their own devices, under Saban it seems that someone is policing that group at all times (be it S&C staff or senior leaders). Only time will tell but I think the tight-knit nature of this 2017 class will yield the kind of results we hope for in this regard; guys need to have fun but also need to know when to reign it in. Past groups have only known when to keep pressing their luck until someone outside the program called them on it.
