RC never had a team finish in the top five, let alone the top four.

They were top 4 before the bowl game though

Not in 98 though, not sure how he got that we would have made it in 98. 92 for sure

RC was 12-0, 10-0-1 and 10-2 (with the conference title trophy of the best conference at the time) in those three years. All three would have made a four team playoff.

Closest would have been 1992 when the team was 5th/4th in the AP poll for 9 weeks. Finished 7th after Notre Dame whipped us in the Cotton Bowl. I believe that under the current system, that team would have gotten a playoff berth.
