That number 10 rating was before they lost the two best players in their front 7. Mathis their stud DE was a potential top 10 pick at DE. The Lb they lost was leading tackler and best blitzes from Lb position.

I think I posted this a few weeks ago, but it bears repeating

Jake Browning vs Top 40 Defenses (Per S&P)
#11 Colorado : 9/24 (37.5%), 118 Yards (4.9 YPA), 2 TD/0 INT

#13 USC : 17/36 (47.2%), 259 Yards (7.2 YPA), 1 TD/2 INT

#19 Stanford : 15/21 (71.4%), 210 Yards (10.0 YPA), 3 TD/0 INT

#38 Utah : 12/20 (60.0%), 186 Yards (9.3 YPA), 2 TD/1 INT

TOTAL : 53/101 (52.5%), 193 YPG (7.7 YPA), 8 TD/3 INT

EVERY OTHER GAME : 170/252 (67.5%), 279 YPG (10.0 YPA), 34 TD/3 INT

They have destroyed mediocre/bad defenses because Browning is clearly very good when he has a clean pocket, time and clean routes to throw to (plus Peterson is a fantastic coach), but against the best defenses, when things get tighter and the pocket isn't as clean, he has struggled quite a bit.

Quite frankly, people keep saying this will be our "toughest QB test" of the season.........I just don't think that's true. Most complete offense? Perhaps, but I don't think Browning is as good as the version of Chad Kelly we saw, nor do I think he is as good under the pressure we will bring as Austin Allen was.
