Then I clean up in GIMP, where I zoom down and cut/erase edges.

The refine edge tool in photoshop I was talking about would eliminate the need for you to ever do this btw, and the smart selection tool in photoshop is incredibly nuanced when compared to its counterpart in gimp as well. I honestly will probably never be able to wrap my head around how well they programmed that component of the program. You can really get precise with the thing.

Then you get into the content aware fills this baby can do, which can also come in handy when you're farking, editing out tv logos, unneeded objects, things in the way, etc. it's just an unbelievable piece of software these days. i've been using it since photoshop 3.0 and you guys don't even know how good you have it with a program like gimp. We used to have to steal all these 3rd party plugins and hope the crack worked just to get a lot of the basic features that are now built into the program. These days the shite is insanely sick.

TRUTH... between this and the aforementioned google tips, mofos dont even understand how horrific graphic design on a budget used to be just say 5 to 7 years ago, let alone back in the early 2000s.

When you mentioned photoshop plugins, man you really took me back. The Creative Suite was a god-send. I havent really jumped into the newer subscription based offerings though. CS6 has been damn good to me...
