The SEC doesn't have the same advantage in hoops as it does the outdoor sports. Kids these days don't want to put up with the cold and elements so the best ones come to the SEC to play in the better weather. That's not an issue for hoops. Everybody plays in the same type environment because its indoors. So we don't have the recruiting advantage in basketball that is held in the outdoor sports.
That's my weak arse theory.

It's simple, it's just not entertaining. It's a combination of kids leaving early, only staying 1 year, the rules change to simplify the game... nobody plays defense because you can't play defensive. Fouls are constantly called which slows the game down (boring).

When was the last time you watched the end of a basketball game? I can't do it, each team has 10 timeouts left and the last 90 seconds takes 45 minutes to play. Here is an idea, why not let the players play the last 90 seconds so that we can see that they have the ability to think for themselves?

It's too canned, too boring. Too much focus on getting the players ready for the NBA which is even more boring to watch. Of all sports in college, basketball is at the biggest risk of decline at the moment. In 10 years there is a good chance that collegiate soccer will be more popular than basketball.

This is coming from a person who was a student during the 90s.. and attended every home basketball game. The game is near dead.
