Thats an SEC thing, if you're referencing behind the benches as the sideline.
The SEC says that in football and basketball, student sections may not be behind the benches. That is why Arkansas moved ours to the opposite side across from the bench, into the corner, and behind one basket.

Pretty sure the student sections at North Carolina, Kentucky, Kansas, Wisconsin etc. are all on the baseline.
Kentucky fits into the SEC thing, of course.
Duke is the only blue blood I can think of off the top of my head that has their students along the sideline.
