Herman will likely do well at Texas. But I won't be surprised if Coach O is quite successful at LSU too.

If LSU couldn't get their #1 and #2 targets, Alleva did not want to take a chance on anyone else that would be riskier. He didn't want to risk entering LSU into a costly contract with a big buyout on top of the buyout owed to Miles, in case the hire didn't succeed. It may be hard for Miles to get hired for enough money to greatly reduce his buyout.

Alleva didn't have to take that financial risk by going with a team of Coach O, Aranda and a solid OC. Coach O has done a good job as an interim HC twice. You can only change so much taking over mid season.

Coach O with a solid staff is not unlike the Dabo/Clemson model that's proven successful. Dabo was a position coach, with strengths like Coach O's -- relationships, recruiting, motivator, with a vision & plan.

If it does not work out so well, LSU's program won't likely be in a shambles with a cupboard lacking player talent. And LSU can then make a HC change without another big buyout.

Alleva just might be a little smarter than many think.

Impressed a very sensible reply and one I agree with. CEO is a better coach than CLM and we now have better coordinators then we had for a few years.

May not have been a home run but we did not strike out. Things are looking up, just not sure how much yet--- but 2016 Tigers were a lot more fun to watch then 2015 Tigers, at least for me! :jump1:
