Your current head coach was just hired by LSU a year ago. He was on the original contract. I could see a clause like that for a first contract.
Chavis was looking at an extension, aka a contract after work had been done. Normally you treat such guys better.
I mean does Aranda's new contract have a "Coach O Clause?" I bet not for that reason.

Aggy is proud of being leveraged. Wonderful. Maybe he'll coach next year for you guys. Just keep an eye on that pass rush. It goes away quick.
