It would be hard to get a lot of 4 & 5* athletes to Miss St. But he would get more than they usually do. My guess is Miss St would win 1 maybe 2 SEC Champs in 5 years but lose to an Urban or a Dabo pretty easy. It would be super hard to talk their admin to spend enough money on facilities to keep up and then Bama would hire him away after his first SEC Champ. So...

Not under Saban it wouldn't. Mullen himself gets plenty of 4* players, but only a handful of 5* in his tenure. It would take Saban at least 5 years to win an SEC champ at MSU, because it would take that long to build the necessary depth. We have facilities already.

But Saban is somewhat of a pussy, and would never except a challenge where he didn't have every advantage over other programs, e.g. LSU and Bama.
