Very good first step.
Next, find your higher power.

Hell, even lowly Mizzou would've fired Butch by now!
Think about that...

Sorry Vols, I don't hope LSU doesn't follow y'all into the gutter.
UT's problem, relative to UGA and LSU at least, is they must be a national brand to compete. UGA and LSU will always get players simply because we have way more in-state to choose from. Butch proved UT can recruit post "gutter" seasons. I think we all agree he just can't coach. Best to cut ties asap as UT could very easily go the way of ND and Nebraska.
I pray they don't give Johnny Freshwater another shot. He'll get back to ATL and rebuild quickly imo. UT can't win without a ton of GA talent on the roster....and Freshwater can probably deliver. He was all over ATL prior to leaving for USC.

The truth shall set you free brother! It's still mind blowing to me that with all the preseason hype that was around Tennessee this year and with all the failure, how in the hell was Davis not canned! If I was a Vols fan this is what would upset me to no end!
What in the hell could Davis possibly sell to the fan base for next year? Good luck!
Who is Davis?

That's the problem with Tennessee, they are always behind the curve on things everyone else sees.
- Should've fired Fulmer after 2005. Nope, let him linger around 3 more seasons and completely dilute the roster.
- Dooley should've been fired after Kentucky loss in 2011. Nope, keep him around for another year with brand new assistants all over the place and a horrendous recruiting class that set Tennessee's roster back two year.
When the head coach at Tennessee is reaching out via his agent to far lesser places like Purdue and Houston and they aren't interested, that should be a clue that it's time to cut bait on the clown show that is Butch Jones.
But no, they will keep him around another annum just so he can recruit another shitty class, further dropping Tennessee in the SEC talent wise and making the job less appealing for the next guy

This was a wonderful post and couldn't agree more.

I agree that TN is a now a mid-level program.
