There's been a heavily pushed train of thought by several radio personalities in LA that amounts to if you can't get Jimbo or Herman then Orgeron is close enough. Right, that's makes sense if you are an Orgeron supporter. Not if you evaluate coaches in any sort of normal fashion.

There are more than a handful of real coaches in college football. You don't have to lose your mind if the first two turn you down, or want more money than you think is reasonable. shite, how can people justify paying 3.5 million for a poorly regarded coach instead of 5-6 million for a highly esteemed coach? There's no more important issue than the head coach of your program. Jim Harbaugh was worth whatever Michigan paid.


It's a complete clusterfrick. You can believe Miles needed to go AND think hiring Orgeron was a disaster.

There is not a single Power 5 school outside of L6U who would have even bothered interviewing Orgeron.
