Every single major program would have hundreds of vacated wins if everything that ever happened was known.

NCAA probation and penalties are mostly a function of who got caught, not a function of actual rule breaking.

The penalties are also all over the place. Some teams get a slap on the wrist for something, and then another team gets hammered for it, etc.

As such, the only thing that matters is what actually happened on the field.


I see the footnote, but I'm not sure this applies to us. That said, I don't disagree. The NCAA can vacate games officially all it wants, but that doesn't change the fact that the games were played and, for the most part, never involved a team gaining a substantial on-field advantage. The NCAA is just the official tally-keeper -- it has no say in how everyone else chooses to handle the games. I say, count 'em unless a provable on-field advantage occurred in the process of whatever violation is being punished.
