I recently went to LSU for the Alabama vs LSU game to stay with some buddies whom are all LSU fans. I was surprised to find that almost every LSU fan I encountered was nice and welcoming.

My buddies had warned me about the fans being harsh on Bama fans and I was the only Bama fan at the tailgate but everyone was very welcoming. Sure, there were some jokes and making fun of me here and there, but overall I was shocked at how nice everyone was from beginning to end. I sat in an LSU section and people were not trash talking or anything, just normal conversation. It was a pleasant surprise. Although they would not stop talking about "Bama Privilege".

It's almost like people make-up shitty stories about our fans with no factual basis.

Glad you enjoyed yourself. We welcome pretty much anyone who doesn't have a shitty attitude.

Agreed.

The exception is when the internet discusses poor little Aggy.

You're lucky to have gotten away without bodily harm. Every LSU tailgate is required to have at least one convicted felon in attendance.

My uncle's neighbor's ex fiance went to an LSU game in baton rouge and they literally lit him on fire. By the grace of God he survived but the nurse at the hospital was an LSU fan and she pushed him out of his 14th story window

I have never seen a visiting fan treated poorly at TS unless they were just being a complete douche a-hole due to too much tailgating.

BTW, Bama Privilege is real. This link sums it up pretty well. This was from 2014 game week buildup in BTR.

Glad you enjoyed yourself. I took an auburn fan to the Bama game - can't make this shite up. He had been to LSU AU games and loved them so he wanted to go to this one. I had an extra ticket and he had a place for me to crash in BR because of work. He wouldn't do the following:
1. Wear anything that had any LSU logo (although he did wear purple ish shirt)
2. Cheer for any play good or bad for either team. He did have meaningful conversation on great plays.
3. Admit the tailgating was the best he had been to. He is a great cook especially BBQ.
4. Admit both of those teams would have stomp AU that game.
He did say that was one of if not the loudest game for 53 minutes he had ever been too. He also said LSU fans leave when the game is still on the line. Then when we left he couldn't believe it took us 1.6 hrs to go 7 miles to his apartment.

Anyone who has a "terrible time" with fans at an SEC away game is a douche or has aspergers IMO

It depends on what kind of Bama fan it is. You must be a good guy that doesn't teabag people, poison trees, or some drunk bitch that dives over the crowd to fight somebody.

Glad you had a good time, bro!

Were you also shocked that most of us don't live on the bayou or have alligators in our front yard and talk like the coonass off of the waterboy either? It's all just stereotypes that people take as fact because they have never experienced it themselves. There are cool and a-hole fans for every team out there. For some reason lsu fans get a bad rep when the vast majority just love lsu and are passionate fans. I'm glad you experienced lsu for yourself.

Sadly, our fans are about as accurate as our recent QBs.
