A year ago we all laughed at Sumlin for losing control of two highly regarded QBs. Now Sumlin is 7-1, still alive for an SEC West title and a very realistic Sugar Bowl berth possibility.

Allen, who is draft eligible after this season, is now stuck sitting out this year in Houston, and he more than likely will never start a game for Tom Herman.

Murray will probably still put up great numbers when he gets his chance at Oklahoma, but I don't know that he will ever play with as talented a receiving corps as A&M has this year. Trevor Knight has put up some great rushing stats this year, I have no doubt Murray could have at least equaled his production.

I had a lot of laughs at Sumlin's expense over losing Murray and Allen so it's only fair that I commend him for rebounding with a transfer QB, and adapting his offense to better suit his personnel.

I actually went further and compared Sumlin to Chizik.

So far, so wrong

Word is Allen might graduate early and be eligible to transfer. Aggy could use a veteran QB.

Won't Kyler be a senior when he finally starts? Unless the bench Mayfield next season I don't think he'll be playing much for OU

He certainly didn't want to them to transfer and it caused a ripple effect on recruiting that we are still recovering from, but landing Knight and designing an offense around his strengths and weaknesses was a great save.

As a fan I'm interested to see how Murray and Allen fare. I think I read Allen may have his degree by the end of this year so he could grad transfer if Herman leaves but don't know that for sure/any rules around it.

The dumbest backlash was about Martell because it's obvious now we dropped him for Mond. Martell has basically said we stopped contacting him and Mond's coach at IMG worked under Mazzone.

I do have that doubt.

Murray is 5'5" and built like a girl.

Trevor Knight is a man who can shed arm tackles and take abuse.

Murray would have been broken by now if he had played for us this season. He's perfect for the Big XII a/k/a "College Football Lite" though.

Losing Allen sucked. Kyler was whatever. I've been pretty adamant since day one that I don't think he's a QB but that's whatever. The move sumlin made this offseason may have saved his job but we'll see.
