Amen. I choked when I found out what people were charging.

As a hobby before my kids were born, I used to DJ at various clubs around Lexington (mostly edm, some hip hop before it got unbearably bad), and when I found out what wedding DJ's charged it kind of pissed me off. Especially when you consider that they made at least 4-5 times what I did on any given night for something that takes considerably less skill and attentiveness. I mean, I wasn't in it for the money because this was a hobby, but it was the principal of the thing.

I'm a big proponent of the free market, but also consumer surplus. The only way to lower prices in the wedding industry is to have people say no. And I love to see it.
