I understand programs are cyclical, but the West has been so much better than the East for a long time, and that has continued yet again.

East is 1-7 vs West right now and if you're projecting, I'd say 2-12 is the outcome. Remaining matchups-

Florida vs Arky and LSU. Florida beats Arky.
Georgia vs Auburn - AU
Vandy vs Ole Miss and Auburn - Vandy loses both
Missouri vs Arky - Arky

That's very realistic and 2-12 is the outcome. Even acknowledging Georgia and Tenn being down, if you were looking at overall football programs in tiers, it heavily favors the west

Tier 1- Bama
Tier 2 - UF, UGA, Tenn, LSU, Aub
Tier 3 - A&M, Arky
Tier 4 - Ole Miss, MSU, Missouri
Tier 5 - USCe, Vandy, UK

I think the East has 4 of the worst 5 programs in the SEC, and when that is over half your division then there is a problem.

Yes.

The west wouldn't look so hot right now without Saban.

Do Alabama fans worry about the East as much as the other SEC West team fans?

Meh, you had Florida and UT, in all honesty, as the only true powers when the east was "dominating". Georgia was.....ok. Everybody else sucked. Now, Florida and UT were dominant but the east as a whole did not dominate the west during that time.
This whole east dominant thing of the 90's is kinda skewed.

Na man the east blows.

Expect Florida trying everything they can to change that.

Reminds me of the 90s.

I'm gonna go drink bleach now.

UK is not the hero the east deserves, just the one they need right now

I hope not. I am wanting Florida to be fixed, eff the rest of the East.

Take us out of Tier 5. We are about to be a threat. Great freshmen QB, RB, and WRs. The rest of our best players are soph. Boom and Bentsiah about to take over the east. It really isn't that hard to see if you open your eyes. Boom will have an offense.

Yes, with the right coaches. It's not a mystery. Success in football is a combination of excellent coaching and recruiting. The West has had better coaches and recruiting. Top 10 recruiting doesn't cut it when your rivals in the West have top 5 recruiting. And in our case, UGA, what has been lacking during the Richt era has been top notch recruiting in the trenches. All of the championship teams in the West had one thing in common, superior OL and defenses in general.

Serious question…

You have UK in the bottom Tier yet they already beat Cocks and Dores in your Tier 5. They have also beaten State and Missouri in your Tier 4. If they beat Dawgs or Vols by years end, how can you have them in Tier 5?

I guess my one change to the OP is that Florida with a good coach is a tier 1 program- see more SEC title game wins than any other program, etc.

I don't know if Mac is that kind of coach- Strategy wise he is, but his recruiting is arguably the worse we've had since before Spurrier.

I heard several ideas to move Bama and/or Auburn to the East depending on what happens during the next expansion.
