Eason is showing some promise in spite of bad form and inaccuracy but a lot of that was due to constant pressure from Florida's defense. He did roll/ran out of pressure of few times and made some good plays under extreme duress.
Yesterday was the first game I've been to this year and it was clear to me that Eason's inaccuracy/poor footwork is due to nearly immediate penetration of our offensive line. We often do have receivers open down field (yesterday I saw Ridley wide open on 2 separate occasions down field but Eason was too busy running for his life to see him and make an accurate throw). Sometimes Eason simply doesn't see them, but 70% of the time he is getting pressure and doesn't have time to make the play. I was amazed yesterday that he did not turn the ball over.

But honestly most of our problems on offense and defense relate back to our OL play. When the offense struggles to get first downs obviously you aren't scoring enough but we are also wearing out the defense because they are on the field so often.
I am beginning to think it really is this simple.

Eason has absolutely no clue how to move in the pocket. Many times he could simply take one step in the right direction and avoid the rush but he always makes the wrong move. Eason lacks the minimum amount of athleticism required to be successful. Year two will not be a whole lot better.
Jacob Eason isn't close to being as good as Sean White. I hope Jake Fromm can take over next year.
