Yep, things are never as bad or as good as the seem at the time. Eason is showing some promise in spite of bad form and inaccuracy but a lot of that was due to constant pressure from Florida's defense. He did roll/ran out of pressure of few times and made some good plays under extreme duress. The defense played pretty well overall considering the offense only got 8 first downs. Looks like we have found a reliable FG kicker/kick off specialist in Blankenship. Unfortunately our punting remains abysmal. We only completed 15 passes but Godwin had a decent game with 5 receptions. But honestly most of our problems on offense and defense relate back to our OL play. When the offense struggles to get first downs obviously you aren't scoring enough but we are also wearing out the defense because they are on the field so often.

Yesterday was the first game I've been to this year and it was clear to me that Eason's inaccuracy/poor footwork is due to nearly immediate penetration of our offensive line. We often do have receivers open down field (yesterday I saw Ridley wide open on 2 separate occasions down field but Eason was too busy running for his life to see him and make an accurate throw). Sometimes Eason simply doesn't see them, but 70% of the time he is getting pressure and doesn't have time to make the play. I was amazed yesterday that he did not turn the ball over.

I am beginning to think it really is this simple.
