Roughly 80 games and 1 Vanderbilt win for every 3 Alabama wins. Things were more balanced till the Bear went to Tuscaloosa.
Fun fact in 1941 Vanderbilt beat Alabama 7-0, with Bear Bryant as a Commodore assistant coach. When I researched to double check this I learned something I didn't know about Coach Bryant in WW2.
quote:
Bryant then served off North Africa, seeing no combat action. However, his ship, the converted liner USAT Uruguay, was rammed by an oil tanker near Bermuda and ordered to be abandoned. Bryant disobeyed the order, saving the lives of his men.[5] Allen Barra claims that two hundred others died in the collision
