How good of a passer is Hurts really?

the biggest issue is timing at this point. he's got a really strong arm and good accuracy. he's got a lot of room to improve but improving his timing will improve his accuracy.

benefits from Kiffin's schemes and play calling which allow for easy completions

definitely. Kiffin calls about 3-5 jet sweeps type plays per game and those count as completions when he tosses the ball 2 feet.

Hurts looks inaccurate when throwing the ball downfield on routes 15 yards plus.

Sometimes. He needs to get cleaner with his mechanics and get more comfortable with those routes. Definitely not his strong suit.

Hurts completes some longer throws because receivers are so open.

yep. he can buy a lot of time for those receivers to get open. he'll make a play or two when it looks like he might just throw it away after a long scramble.

Hurt left a lot of yards off the stat sheet against Rocky Top because he couldn't hit receivers in stride.

maybe not a whole lot. but he didnt have a good day throwing the ball at all. Still kicked arse though
