So far Ohio State has beat up on three cupcakes, put up an impressive performance against a decent Oklahoma defense and looked shaky against a good Indiana defense.
None of that exactly suggests being a level above Alabama's offense.
S&P+ factors in strength of opposition and pace of play among other things. Here are the current offensive standings:
1. Lousiville (Rushing: 2 Passing: 18)
2. Oklahoma (5, 7)
3. Texas Tech (40, 15)
4. Florida State (14, 6)
5. Ole Miss (33, 8)
6. Oregon (22, 33)
7. Texas (37, 65)
8. Alabama (7, 44)
9. South Florida (30, 60)
10. California (17, 67)
11. Ohio State (3, 46)
16. Washington (16, 15)
18. Clemson (50, 5)
Expect Alabama's offense to continue to improve now that the offensive line has jelled and Hurts continues to grow more comfortable with the offense.
