This is why it 1941 pisses off every rational Bama fan. There are so many other seasons where we can legitimately claim a national championship, but some dumbass information director claimed '41.

Personally, I don't give a shite about the exact total number. I just know it's the must if you go all time or just AP. I went from only seeing one title as a child, almost 20 years of shite talking and the occasional good team, to a period more dominant than any college football fan thought was realistically possible in the modern era.
