[SEC Bylaw 30.22.1.3] The Conference champion will be determined by a game between the two division champions. The team in each division with the highest percentage of wins during all regular-season Conference competition will be declared division champion. If two or more teams are tied with the highest percentage of wins, they will be declared division co-champions. Division standings will be calculated on a percentage basis, using only those Conference games which are a part of the regular rotating schedule. Details on all tie-breaking procedures are outlined in these Commissioner's Regulations. The site of the championship game shall be set by a vote of the Conference member institutions.

The lack of 8 conference games may not make a team ineligible, but I believe that it would. Which my interpretation isn't worth the bandwidth it takes to post it as far as what will happen.

All that being said, I don't think it will matter.

It would be nice if the fricking commissioner of the most powerful conference in CFB would come out and give everyone some insight as to exactly WTF is going on. I hope to god he has spoken to ADs and they aren't sitting around like us trying to interpret how the regulations will be enforced.

As others have said, no way Slive or even that bastard Roy Kramer would not have cleared this up by now, at least part of it.

Because if UF & LSU are ineligible unless they meet the scheduling guidelines, like I interpret the rules, then they have a frick ton more motivation to get this hammered out.

And if UF dicks around and LSU losses another conference games, then LSU could frick UF over by not giving an inch to UF and cause them to be ineligible.

All that being said, I still stand by my opinion that neither of the two things I said in the OP will happen.
