Throws across the middle are dangerous when the ball is sailing.
Plus... the best way to open up the middle for our running game is to attack the sidelines on passing routes.

I understand all of what you are saying, however, the stacked the box because we couldn't pass....at all. Rarely (Relatively) even tried. That works when you are playing South Carolina. When we play Florida or Auburn it won't work. Saturday was an opportunity to get Eason some confidence and work, and it didn't happen.

That pass has been money this year.

It was money against teams attacking the gaps. USC had a guy matching up with him a lot.

We can agree to disagree.

Saturday was an opportunity to get a division road win. To break a 2 game losing streak. To break a 3 game losing streak in that stadium.

Sailing balls over the middle not only hurt the chance for the W but they don't put Eason in a position to build his confidence. Missing on the sidelines or corner of the end zone are just incompletions. And even the incompletions pull the defense's attention away from their run disciplines (shallow crosses and hard slants don't do that).

I agree that Florida and Auburn will be much tougher contests. The work to get better can be Monday through Friday. If the weather is better, it wouldnt shock me to see much more Nauta, Ridley, and Woerner in the receiving game. I think Chaney changes the game plan a lot to suit each opponent.

Luckily, that's been the worst he's played all year. He's closer to what we saw vs Mizzou than USCe.
