To be honest with you it centers on the after effects of a storm like that. Trees will be down. Power will be out in a lot of neighborhoods. Yes the campus probably have their own power source, but neighborhoods in that area will not have it. Resources will be stretched as it is. Emergency personal will be strained. On type of that there is a game to be played. Yes we know Florida has hurricanes but we have it in Louisiana as well. Lets be smart here and understand that The governer has declared a state of emergency.

I hope its not bad, no one gets hurt and the game goes on as planned, but the reality is that there is going to mass power outages in the region, some will lose their homes and we are concerned over a football game.

Even if the game goes on as planned i doubt more than 60% of the stadium is full. Even if gainesville isnt affected many ticket holders live in areas that will be.

The opening poster comes off as being an arrogant kid with little to no life experience. There is no state, city or town that can deal with a hurricaine. The best they can do is try to fix the damage afterwards in a timely fashion.

The utility companies are what we base repairs on, mainly electricity then internet. Neither of these have anything to do with local government.

Im praying for Florida and its residents as i hope everyone else is.

Thank u Milk u r obviously older and wiser than original poster. People in Red Stick need a break and are frustrated with just the lack of a decision so that they can plan accordingly.

I never really minded riding out a hurricane but I was always way higher than could flood. Kind of a rush, and always thought I might get a chance to help someone. But the aftermath, the heat, the smell, the loss of power was always the worst part for people who didn't suffer catastrophic damage. Hell typically more people die after the storm from injuries accidents chain saws electrical issues and heart attacks etc from most smaller storms that I have been in.
