I don't see it as a "lateral move" like LSU fans see it. It would be a big step down. Why leave a program that you know you'll be a favorite to win the National Championship. Not saying that LSU couldn't, but street cred with Saban would be better than with O. The credibility and stability of Alabama OC is better. Also isn't Lane the highest paid coordinator at Alabama? Sure LSU might be able to save money with O, but would they pay Lane more to move??

How about the street cred that comes with beating Saban a couple of times? Easier typed than done but Kiffen's never been short on confidence. I'd be thrilled to have him at OC but I really expect him to get a HC spot somewhere next year. But I'd bet money Orgeron has already been on the phone with him.
