What you don't get is that even if he does not have a permit, this is a very low level offense in Alabama.
Joe off the street will often see it dismissed with nothing more that court costs paid or prosecution deferred and dismissed completely if he stays out of trouble. At worst he'll pay a small (as in a few hundred dollars) fine.
You should quit trying to make it more than it is because you're the only one looking bad.

I know it is a low level offense. Just trying to point out to you homers that Tim broke the law, so quit defending him like he didn't.
