If anything, firing a coach who is 2-2 (where both games came down to the last play) with plenty to play for going forward, shows future candidates that LSU is NOT the place to go. Unreasonable expectations and what not.

if a prospective hire doesn't think he can come here and have as good or an even better run than what LSU experienced the last 15 years, then i don't want him.

Low expectations is for places like Texas A&M
