Sure, but I'm not going to sit here and pretend his incredible eye for coaching talent led him to find a diamond in the rough. He hired a guy considered by pretty much everyone to be an elite OL coach.

In the case of Chavis he at least worked a deal to take him from LSU, however in hindsight that wasn't as impressive as Chavis had no intention of returning to LSU and turned down a bigger contract from them.

You cannot pretend this wasn't a masterful stroke, and LSU didn't offer to pony up until Chavis was already gone

what does this have to do with anything? Who cares if Chavis left because of the instability at LSU, Kevin made the Hite happen. That deserves a level of credit
