I'll get you a pic next time I'm by, crackheads, hookers that's all that's there now

I google mapped it, 15-16 hours each way.......if only I had a pilots license Europeans have one thing right, high speed friggin trains. It would be so sweet to just hop on an overnight train to Charlotte Friday and rent a car.

Wow ... that's a shame. Used to be one of the nicest hotels in the country. They had all of these themed suites like the jungle room, etc.

We had an 82nd Airborne Reunion there in 1982. It's where I met Dick Winters and some of the other Band of Brothers guys of HBO fame ... they just weren't famous yet.

Yeah, about flying and trains. I've got a god friend who flies, has several aircraft. We made that trip one time and he was pissed the whole way there because we fought some vicious head winds the whole way there. Coming back was a breeze - but going just sucked.

And we've all long complained about no rail service to Texas. Years ago we actually took a train to New Ireland for the Sugar Bowl. We actually did that twice. Once from here and once from Memphis. But those were fun. Still yet, Amtrain doesn't go any further than NOLA if I remember correctly. I've always said it should run out west, at least to Vegas through Texas.
