Oh, definitely! coaches (most of the time) would always prefer stuff like that be handled privately. I suspect he made the hint, hoping Williams would run with it during a clubhouse meeting. Williams just got a little too enthusiastic! But, like you said, it worked out. One of the things i picked up while playing is usually the players you THINK are the leaders of a team aren't.
