By then NCAA had already set the pattern of investigating some schools and overlooking others.

Auburn and Texas A&M were certainly punished inn 1957 while others were not who were doing the same things.

It continues with Ole Miss 2016. They are likely violating rules, but I doubt they are the only ones.
