They were in the Peach Bowl back before it was a big time bowl game. They had already slipped a few notches. IMO, their slide started when they lost at unranked UNC (I believe in 2004). Whatever aura of invincibility was left from the Butch Davis recruiting classes went away that night. They also lost at home to unranked GT in 2005 that knocked them out of the national title race.


agreed. As another guy pointed out also, lsu absolutely drove the nail in the coffin that night for miami, but anyone that was paying attention could clearly tell miami was trending down. Coker was an awful coach, and the Davis recruits were finally gone.

someone mentioned colorado beating nebraska in 01.... thats a good call.
