Did last year help Lock at all?

We saw a few mistakes Saturday that looked to be poor decisions from a young quarterback.
My question - Do you think last year's abomination of an offense helped Lock at all? Did the constant fight to survive every down give him any useful experience, or is this year really his first meaningful learning year?

It had to have; not getting your arse physically kicked every game has to be better than getting your arse physically kicked every play.

A version of this mantra got me through the 8th grade.

if it did help, it was very little. too bad heupel didn't get him as a true freshman.

I think it helps from the perspective of seeing Division 1 speed.
Very surprised when he said he was not taught to read defenses last year. I know he wouldn't be perfect, but not getting an intro to reading defenses seems pretty neglectful.
Between that, Ricker's OL abortion, and the OC from hell, what was going on last year?

Answer: A Mongolian Cluster-frick
Seriously last year was the worst D1 offense I have ever seen, considering 2 of those O-Lineman are on NFL rosters this year make last year an even bigger what the frick?

There is no explanation for the tragedy that was last year's O. The talent was there - apparently those guys couldn't coach their way out of a bag. That Lock wasn't trained to read defenses? Holy crap. Yes, Andy Hill needed to be with our receivers. Holy. Crap.

best thing for us would have been if we could have RS lock last year. Nobody wanted that
but no I don't think getting his bell rung all year as an 18 yr old helped him much

I think it gave him "game" experience. Now he can focus on playing instead of being the guy. Last year was a shitfest that pretty much can be explained by Ricker/Henson.
GP was a great coach, but he was pretty shite at picking offensive coordinators.

I'm just glad Lock survived 2015 (seemingly) unscarred.
He could have easily had his courage beaten out of him.
