Admittedly "Starkville" is an ugly-arse sounding word. "Starkville" is not pretty sounding like "Pleasant Valley" or "Robinston" or Cherry Dunes or something. And it isn't awesomely tough sounding like "Eagles-nest" or "Grand Junction," or "Tuscaloosa."

But consider that "Baton Rouge" means red dick in Frenchish. I mean, who would name a town "red dick?" Did someone watch porn while eating a corndog smothered in ketchup? Or did someone go after their mother at the wrong time?

Why did that town get named "red dick?" it is one of the worlds great mysteries.
