Somewhat, a lot of your OOS students get reduced tuition, scholarships, and/or free stuff/money.

Not a bad thing, it is raising your academic standards and allowing for the school side of the brand to reach out to new areas and kids that wouldnt come down to the state of alabama

True, though I've heard they've scaled back some of those enticements. Not sure 100% though.


And one thing I forgot to mention is Auburn has been kicking Alabama's arse in recruiting the coveted Over the Mountain(suburban) kids from Birmingham for the past 15-20 years. Alabama had 2 options - lower its admission standards(which were already pretty low) or go out of state with enticements to get out of state kids.
