There will be no smack-down of any sort in 2016, OM hasn't appeared before the NCAA Committee on Infractions to plead their case for the NOA allegations. The COI can't rule on a case or hand down penalties/sanctions when they haven't even heard the OM side of the story.

There could certainly be some players ruled "ineligible". And, it's not just the 2016 recruiting class.

I meant there will be no sanctions or penalties for OM handed down by the NCAA in calendar year 2016. I think everyone knows this investigation isn't just the 2016 recruiting class.

They had Tunsil ruled ineligible last season, the NCAA can certainly do the same this year if they feel it's necessary. But the NCAA will impose a post-season bowl ban on OM when the Committee on Infractions hasn't even processed the allegations in the NOA.
