It goes in cycle. Eventually, the West will go down and the East will go back up. Then after so many years, the East will go down and the West will go back up.

I think the West is definitely stronger once again. I think the best possible match up for the East to win is Bama-UT if Bama won the first match up.
I'd put the West as -225 right now to win the conference.

Of course it does.
-West won the first
-East won the next 6 in a row
-It was a 5/5 split over the next 10
-Now west has won 7 in a row
It'll change, not this year but within the next few expect the east to start pulling their weight again.

Being in the east is the only reason I've ever been jealous of mizzou. Lucky bastards.

Why? You haven't beaten anyone in the big six from the east and 1-2 against Mizzou.

Not this year. Momentum will swing back to the East eventually though.

I forgot how good the 2012 Bama/UGA game was.

Because one game is a huge sample size...

ITT teams without an SEC Championship Game win dickride the Big 3 in the West

It isn't just the champ game. The west seems to crush the each in head to head match ups.

Yeah I don't feel like digging through schedules to look but I'm pretty sure this is correct.

I think the parallels to the Florida and Tennessee series of the 90's and Bama vs LSU series of the last ten years is uncanny. UF and UT were the two most talented teams in the conference at that time and played in the same division. Bama playing the UF role and LSU playing the UT role. Occasionally a team from the other division fielded a team that could make a run, Bama in that era and Georgia in this one.
In a perfect world for a neutral observer, each division would have 2-3 teams that were close to each other at the top. The west dominance of today was the east dominance back then, but at least Bama snuck in a few conference titles in that time period.
I think if Smart and Mcelwain work out, two younger guys in the grand scheme of things, then you'll see the overall conference power shift back to the east as Saban and Miles retire, or at least give us an opportunity for equal power struggle. They'll both start the ascent soon and will have established themselves by the time the power vacuum occurs at LSU and Bama. The next hires there will be critical in keeping the west at the top

Why does it seem like aTm and Arkansas make the biggest deal out the east being weaker? Y'all could play in the ACC East and still wouldn't come close to winning anything.
