Hey bro, you can't play football for us because we don't let people with your skin color represent our University, but you're a hell of an athlete so Goodluck. Sounds like a hell of a time to be alive

That's an oversimplification. Bama integrated in 1967, but didn't have black starters until 1971 with John Mitchell and Wilbur Jackson. 1971 was the same year Holloway came to Tennessee. It wasn't that Bama wouldn't allow blacks to play for them by that point, it was about not letting a black person play quarterback. The racist mental block around black QBs is well-documented and was incredibly silly.
