When I heard he got arrested, I was picturing the crime like this.

You know this thread has great potential but other than a handful it's been admittedly tame thus far.

Does anyone know where he was when he committed this crime?

If he was in some sort of nature preserve, he is damn lucky he isn't headed to court staring at a felony offense. If not, and people think this is funny, I wonder how they would feel if someone went onto their property and killed one of their, say, Japanese Maple trees that can retail for over 1,500 dollars.

It's a much bigger deal than a lot of people realize to just go around killing trees.

For instance, around here we have very few virgin forested areas left, and in some of the old-growth forests you can still find beech trees. They're very rare here in Arkansas. Well almost without fail every time I'm out hiking I see dozens of these trees that are dying as a direct result of some jackass kid who thinks it's cool to go carve with a knife something to the effect of "Jack wuz here and he fu(ked Diane under this very tree".

Well, those very rare, very old and very large trees aren't coming back. They're gone for good when they die.

Doesn't even know how to do it.
