Yep, it's very rare for a team to start and finish #1, but Alabama's results when starting #1 are actually quite good compared to most programs. Top 10 every time, with one national championship and arguably a deserved another.

Yeah it's only happened 10x in the 66 year history of the AP doing a preseason poll.
