BGB - I agree. Houston is a bit different animal. There is technically no zoning, so the only thing that keeps your neighbor from running a business out of their home or raising chickens in the backyard is the HOA. I've had some that are jerks and some that are fantastic. If enough people don't like the board, it is pretty easy to replace them at the next election.
