Or perhaps, just perhaps, Alabama fans can admit that it was a shitty thing to do and move on rather than trying to rationalize it.
I didn't try to rationalize anything.
It would be a shitty thing to do, absolutely.
If someone came up to me and said, "RB10 regularly beats up old women and steals from them," my initial reaction isn't, "Well, I dislike that guy, so it must be true and therefor I will go fire a tazer into his balls." My initial reaction is, "Man, that's horrible - is it true? I should probably make sure it's true before I condemn someone to electrified testicles."
So, you know... different approaches to news about people/places I may have a negative view than, apparently, you do.

How else am I going to let you all know how silly you look? This is charity.
Yeah because all the Bama fans in here melting over some random internet poster calling their team childish ISN'T silly?

Because saying, "Man, that was a shitty thing to do" is just the end of the world, isn't it?
You can't be serious.
No, because you're making a definitive statement assuming it occurred.
It WOULD be a shitty thing to do, yes.
I still don't know if it was a shitty thing that HAD BEEN DONE.

Wait, so you're arguing that his stuff may not have been in the trash at all?

Gumps have nothing to say in their defense, just spin and name calling. Sad!
Well, it may sound bad but during the summer workouts is when the team practices without coaches and tend to come together as a team. It's when the QB's need to "win over the team" as coach Saban has indicated.
It's also possible to whine and complain about things until your teammates get tired of hearing it.
Smith should graduate this week and he can go anywhere he wants.
The rules of transferring in conference will apply if he decides UGA is where he wants to go.
If he wants to play for his former position coaches he can.
He wants Saban to grant him an exceptional favor for leaving the team in worse shape than if he'd asked to transfer last year. So that's not gonna happen.
He will not be granted an exceptional favor.

What my fellow Gumps do is of no concern to me. They can shitpost on here for the rest of time for all I care.

I'm saying that the only evidence that anything occurred is a twitter post and nothing else. No picture, nothing from any other players, nothing.
I'm not stating that he IS making anything up either.
I'm stating that I tend to reserve my assumptions for events that have more evidence than that.
IF they threw his stuff in the trash, that's a crappy thing to do and they need formally apologize. Publicly.
If he's making it up, he needs to be called out on it.
If it's a simple misunderstanding (someone put his stuff, say, in a box and the box was set next to the trash, or someone mistook the box for trash and accidentally threw it away) then I hope it gets cleared up.
I've had to clean out desks plenty of times from people who quit or were let go. It's not even slightly enjoyable and even employees I disliked did I revel in doing so and most certainly never threw away their belongings into the trash unless they, themselves, told me anything left behind was garbage.
I would be irked to think that if someone saw me boxing up another person's belongings that I was throwing them in the trash just because they knew that the person in question didn't get along with me.
Does that make my stance clear? I'm not justifying shitty behavior - I just like confirmation that shitty behavior has actually occurred before I start contemplating who gets the tazer to the balls.

Not really sure why I should care.

I'm just trying to keep my shitposting in one thread. Also, this was one of the easiest trolls ever, and it wasn't even meant to be a troll.
The number of Alabama fans tripping over themselves to call me stupid and/or a homer because I made a slightly negative comment about their teams is amusing. The best part is, at the end of the day being called assholes for throwing the kids stuff away is probably going to be one of the nicer things said about Alabama with regards to this situation.

I mean, they say they provided pictures to someone. It's not really clear to whom, but they have apparently have them.
"Another photo was provided of what Smith’s family says are his personal items thrown in the trash. Who threw them in the trash isn’t clear, but they said the message was clear."

I saw that, I just haven't seen them.
I mean, it could have been some kid on the team who got pissy and threw everything away - and if so, he should be disciplined old school. Run til he throws up kind of old school.
I honestly doubt it was Saban. Does he seem that petty a person to you? I would be genuinely disheartened to hear it was him, because I don't think you do kids this way.

Funny, I'm pretty sure I never said nor implied Saban had anything to do with it.
I have no doubt it was some GA who was told to clean out the locker and just threw the stuff away or a player.

Then he should be tazed in the balls.

Can you read? Alabama still look like assholes. That hasn't changed.

Okay, I've checked with my inside source. It is common practice to empty lockers, even one's own, using green Glad trash bags. The banana peel was just added bonus.

How so?
Look man I'm going to have to give you the short version:
If you throw someone's stuff in the trash, you're an a-hole. Since we don't know who did it the collective "Alabama" gets the label.

Just so you know I don't think there's going to be another side to the story.

Alabama declined to comment when asked about the letter on Wednesday.
I'm sure Saban and co. don't want to get into a back and forth with the kid through the media. They probably just called, apologized and moved on. A GA or two may be out of a job, but who knows.
