Seriously though, LSU's problem right now is that they have a mercenary coaching staff.
This happens just before the head coach gets canned quite often. Coach sees the writing on the wall and starts trying to "fix" things by bringing in new coordinators. Eventually though the coach gets canned except for in the rare cases when he brings in a coordinator that captures lightning in a bottle. Not gonna happen for LSU this year either.
Gus Malzahn is headed down the same road.

Miles wanted to bring in Aranda last year. He refused because of the Miles clause. When the coup failed in November and the Miles clause was nulled, Les called Aranda.
