You know damn well Texas didn't want UH in the SWC just like they didn't want them in the Big 12 when the SWC broke up so UH had to join CUSA.
The SEC deal was after the 1955 season and UH applied for SEC membership with OM as their sponsors. I don't have a member vote but they were declined.
