Teams like Florida and LSU are strong national powers but they are no Alabama. Saban could have only done what he has done at a school like Alabama. The tradition is there, the brand is there, and the mystique is there. All the other schools within the SEC, LSU included, do not have the same allure that Alabama does.

What is Alabama without Saban (now not in a historic way)? Please inform us of this great coach that's out there that was going to come in and save your program. Saban was the right coach at the right time. He would have been just as successful at State as he was at LSU and Bamma. The man can build any program. And just like when he came to LSU he saw an opportunity at Bamma to build a program his way.

Saban himself has said bama was the only other school close to LSU as an eventual sleeping SEC giant so unless saban was wrong than his statements are just dumb.
