I guarantee you MR told Baylor he could get him there, but Herman would be foolish to leave Houston for that job.
UT will open up soon enough, and Houston is poised to forge a spot in the Big 12 once they become desperate enough to start going the SWC reunion route for expansion.
ETA: I still say Odom was MRs second choice. Probably the right choice though, Herman probably bolts just as easily as MR did.
