Try to not let your opinion effect your willingness to keep up in conversation. I don't mind stopping for you, if you want to play a fool I'll teach you like a fool. Now sit up.

When I say it's not applicable, you large mouth bass, I'm not referring to the generalities of simple statements. Those didn't come from the bible anyways. Do you think Judiesm is the first religion to command not to kill?

I'm referring to the frenge parts of the Old Testament, the parts that make it unique from other religions. The parts that we as Christians ignore about our own past while pointing the finger at the Muslim's present. The parts that are very specific.

Unless you're ready to stone a girl to death to prove me wrong, this (gladly) doesn't apply to us because we know better than to stone people to death for having premarital sex.

Our Old Testament can't be believed, so our New Testament can't be believed. Jesus, the messiah, coming because this unbelievable Old Testament said so is a middle eastern self fulfilling prophecy. They taught that a redeemer was coming. Then they've never stopped having people apply for the job since. Can you imagine if we had a book for every person who claimed to be the old testament's messiah? There'd be a religion for every one of them.

So, bass, when I say it's not applicable to us, I'm not talking about it saying to do nice things. I'm talking about it saying to do unspeakably bad things.

Those don't apply to us. They can keep the generalities. We already know not to kill people. We didn't need middle easterners from 2,500 years ago to tell us that. We don't need middle easterners from today telling us that. They can't stop killing anybody.

We need to divorce middle easterners from our life's. It starts with giving them their Old Testament back and letting them and the Muslims have a merry fricking Christmas. Then we can move on united and figure out better ways to observe and acknowledge the work of our designer and not let that still fricked up part of this word tell us how to do anything.

They were right. Back 2,500 years ago, they were just trying to make since of the world around them. It was clear to them as it is clear to us. We are designed. The story they came up to support that, wasn't only bad, it was unnecessary.

They didn't have the ability to talk in scientific terms do describe things that hadn't even been discovered yet. So they had to tell a story of the designer.

It wasn't necessary. Here were are, It's clear to see. No need to tell me to not kill people (or to kill people when they have premarital sex. No need to sacrifice a messiah. I see "the creator's creations" and am baffled by it's order and existence. And so appreciative. But not to the story middle easterners came up with.

Well, I'm of the opinion that in today's society - any sane and rational thinking person would know this. I'm also of the opinion that not every single verse in the Bible is meant to be taken literally. I've even been told this by priests, nuns, preachers, etc.

I don't pretend to be a theologian at all, but I do live by common sense and a Faith in God and Jesus Christ. So, if ignoring the "horrible" parts of the Bible, and referring to its "good" teachings for a basis of character, honesty, and understanding makes me stupid, then so be it.

Call me whatever names make you feel better, but I'll continue to believe what I believe - just as you will. That's what makes America great.
