Anyone paying even the slightest attention knows Saban is very much a disciplinarian. It would have been far more shocking if he hadn't done this. You don't have to like Saban or Bama to acknowledge that

you are naïve. saban's "suspension" will not amount to a slap on the wrist. the fricking law didn't have the balls to prosecute them. the only lesson learned here is that football players are above the law in SOME situations.

I can assure you that if you were arrested smoking weed in a car in the middle of the night and unregistered and one stolen gun was found in your possession YOU would not skate.

50% of the individuals in that smelly weed soaked vehicle didn't even get arrested GrandDad. And that DA y'all have in Louisiana didn't find enough solid evidence to prosecute the other 50% (football players) that were arrested.

Now you just sound like a sore loser, Grandad. Anyone who has actually seen more than the headline and the DA's remarks on Fox understands that the DA was protecting his own office by not prosecuting. The search was not legal, the stolen gun was not stolen by anyone in the vehicle (or none of the football players, at least), and the other gun was declared before the cops found it. There wasn't even enough pot for a regular stoner to be hassled by the cops - anyone else would have been ignored or sent home. If you can't see that the whole reason this escalated to the level it did was BECAUSE these were Bama players in the car, then you are just being jaded. If this was in Alabama, then I'd definitely think some inside shite when down. But this was Louisiana - not even in a non-football area, but right in the home of ULM (LSU-North, whatever). REC got some pull, but not that much.
And if you got lawyered up like these guys probably did, you'd easily get off without prosecution. It happens every day.
